 The
Best Singer in the District Contest made its debut in March of 2010.
Over 200 Greenville County Schools students competed for a spot in
the first BSD competition. This year five districts competed,
their winners going on to vie for Best Singer in the State.
Proceeds go to district schools to
fund their music departments.

She wonders if I am okay
She listens when I speak
She watches over me like my guardian angel
She wants me to try the best I can

She sacrifices her life for my own
She is protective and brave
She makes me feel better when I am sad
She worries when I am hurt
She cries when I cry
My mom is amazing and special
She understands me when I talk
She says I am her life
She dreams everything will turn out right
She tries her hardest every day

I’d like to wish you a happy Mother’s Day
You’re always so nice
You give me advice
That’s what I’m here to say
There are so many things I like about you
You're bright, polite
And always right
And everyone knows it’s true
You calm all my fears and come to my aid
If there’s a bug on the wall
I give you a call
A safe, happy home is what you have made
I know that you’re always here for me
To show me the way
And make things okay
